Some people's problems
Xylo,TheCarouselPony wrote:I am trying to figure out some things about myself and came across this site in my search. I am a 24 year old woman. I am so unhappy with the way that I am right now its pretty ridiculous. I have always had these feelings but as I get older they are becoming predominantly stronger. I know its a lot more then the cloths, but that is just an example of how I feel.
Anyway, I would introduce myself to you all but at this moment in time I am a little confused on who I am. I know I have allot of research to do and I was kind of hoping that some of you who have already been through this can kind of offer some kind advice. Anything would be appreciated.

Madison_Dawn wrote:Today I found myself questioning doing the surgery for the first time. I have always wanted it, but I've come to see myself as me. Surgery or not it is still me... . . . . I have what I want. Do I want the surgery? Answer is yes, do I need it, not so sure anymore. If only I guess to finally seal the deal. Is it weird to have these thoughts? I still have time to ponder but at a crossroads. Any advice?....(emphasis mine)
Not to throw a wrench into the monkey works Mattie, but here goes. Remember or recall that you are not under a time deadline as far as your transition goes, are you ? You are old enough to be an mature adult that can take the necessary time to think out and plan what you are going to do, at least you are not a transgender teen that is up against a timeline before their puberty strikes with full force in the wrong gender. If you think it to be prudent, why not consider doing this. For the next six months or so, why not consider doing this. Give you desire for surgery the test of time. On the first and fifteenth of the month, take a few minuets to be by yourself alone, sitting in an easy chair and maybe listening to your favorite music, and just meditate on what you are doing and why and how you are planning on spending your money and transitioning. If after each session, it turns out that each and every time that you are convinced you are going in the direction that you want to, that is, have the surgery, then you will have reviewed this and received positive feedback from yourself a total of twelve times. Then go for it !
But if over the months that you do this, you have a back and forth, yes/no situation, then you should not go ahead with the surgery. Continue to consider what time, circumstances, and your own heart and soul are telling you. Resolve any lingering doubts, maybe with professional help, before you commit to any medical procedures. You can always move you appointment for surgery into the future, so as to be guaranteed a place in the doctor's schedule. Again, you are not under a timeline, saying that you must do the surgery soon, like RIGHT NOW ! To quote the Davy Crockett from a song he sang in his cartoon program in the 1950's---
" Make sure you are right, and then go ahead ! "
I wish you the best during your time of thought and meditation, Maddie, from Ponytails.

What sorcery is this?
Is this some kind of secret transgender board?

You, as well as others, may discuss, within reason, transgender topics on this thread or in this section. This website is transgender friendly, and is a 'safe space' for ones to talk about their gender concerns, gender identity, and gender expression. The above quotes were transposed to here from another website when it became possible that those people's comments would be lost forever in cyperspace. The comments refer to other people on their respective websites, and are not those of myself, CarouselPony, or of one of the other members here, a girl named Xylo. This board is not real active, and never has been, but it does serve a purpose to a few fans of My Little Pony, and a few transgender folks, too.

OK.
I've had the same arguments and discussions about this subject dozens of times and I just don't have the strength to say one more single word about it.
Good, bad, or otherwise "live and let live" and call it even.
The Great and Powerful Trixie has other matters to attend to, she bids you a good day.

. . . . but usually I don't like dumping my problems on you so I tend not to say much about it all here or in emails. But lately, it just seems to be piling up and I'm really tired of trying to deal with it all and I feel like I'm failing.
Many of the ones here DO care about you, Marsh, so feel free to post and comment what is on your mind, heart, and soul. Even though you may be isolated socially from understanding and caring friends and family, this can be your lifeline to others who do care about you, and are in the same lifeboat as you are. If the future looks dismal and nothing but failure, then reduce it down to just looking at one day at a time, and living each day as best as you can being your authentic self.
The nearest state to where you are now that has state-wide protection for discrimination based on gender identity and/or gender expression is Maryland. Could or would it be possible for you to move to coastal Maryland ? Maybe that goal of moving would be enough to keep you going ?
