I'm impressed with your correct reasoning about humanity, Discord. Humanity as a whole is in fact, as the saying goes, " Going to 'Hell' in a handbasket ". So much for humanity supposedly " evolving upward " . The recent troll and spammer onslaught on the old website showed us what the typical jaded human can or will be like on line or elsewhere. You know, corrupted ego, foul thoughts and language, addicted to pornography, no concern for other innocent people or children, me first attitude, etc, etc. But as you noted, individual peeps can choose to be different, to try and be good, and be like ' gems ' and ' little fireworks ' in the darkness of what you see as typical humanity these days. For better or worse, that is what I have chosen for myself to be, a little sparkler in a vast, dark, morbid world of humanity, as well as a spark of encouragement here on this new MLP-FIM website, in the aftermath of the Katrina troll and spam storm on the old website.

The concept of being a ' gem ' also matches well regarding Lauren Faust's purpose of My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic as being a good influence on little girls, and hopefully, bronys and pegasisters, too. The whole concept of My Little Pony I think was meant to be a spark in a night of darkness and confusion for humanity, and for ones to use friendship, and other good personality traits, to help and encourage others, just like the ponies do.
